The pumpkins have been coming along nicely this year. The weather during July and August certainly helped. Thankfully the need to water them every other day has come to an end.
We’re going to have a busy few weeks harvesting thousands of pumpkins and getting the field ready to welcome our visitors. We genuinely can’t wait.
One of the most difficult things at this point is to keep slugs away. We don’t ever use any chemicals on our pumpkins nor do we use slug pellets. We do have a secret weapon though…a family of hedgehogs. They like nothing more than to eat slugs and to keep them away from our perfect pumpkins!
Long live Gregory Grainneog!
